National Semiconductor Atmel Optek

Coiltronics Bussmann PowerStor

Welcome to Kobama’s website

Kobama is a company specialized in the sales representation of electronic components manufacturers. Our current linecard includes National Semicondutor, Atmel, TT Electronics’ Optek Tecknology and three CooperBussmann’s strong brands: Bussmann, Coiltronics and Power Stor. The products they manufacture can be divided in four areas: passive, digital semiconductor, analog semiconductor and optical devices.

In the passive components area it is included fuses, suppressors from Bussmann, supercapacitors from PowerStor and magnetic components (inductors, power inductors, common mode chokes, transformers, current sensors, etc) from Coiltronics brand. Our competitors are mainly Coilcraft, Epcos, Wurth, JW Miller, TDK, Vishay, Panasonic, Delta, etc.

The main analog components that we sell are switching regulators, LED drivers, operational amplifiers, A/D and D/A converters, Ethernet interfaces, LDO regulators, SDI, temperature sensors, PLL, VCO, audio devices for portable products e photovoltaic cells management for solar energy applications and Bluetooth transceivers. We compete with Texas Instruments, Linear Technology, Maxim, ROHM, Analog Devices, ON Semiconductor, etc.

The switching regulators from National Semiconductor allow the development of products with high energy efficiency and with the support of Webench the time-to-market will be optimized.

In the digital semiconductor group the main products are 8 bit, 16 bit and 32 bit microcontrollers (Atmel’s AVR, AVR32, ARM7, ARM9, ARM11, CORTEX and 8051 ), nonvolatile memories (Atmel’s EPROM, EEPROM, Serial Flash, Parallel Flash and Dataflash), secure memories and contact smart cards (Atmel’s Cryptomemory) , contactless smart card and RFIDs (Atmel’s CryptoRF), RF transceivers for ZigBee (800-900 MHz and 2.4 GHz) and for specific applications in the frequencies ranges 315 MHz, 3456 Mhz, 433 MHz, 868 MHz, 915 MHz and 2.4 GHz. It is included in this group also the touch technology keys that is part of modern designs of electronic products. We compete mainly against Freescale, NXP, ST, Microchip, Texas Instruments among others.

To make the product development easier, Atmel microcontrollers can be implemented with several operating systems like LINUX (for AVR32 and ARM9) and Windos CE (for ARM9).

Finally, in the optical devices group we represent TT Electronics’ Optek Technology, that manufactures infrared devices (photodiodes, phototransistors, reflective sensors and slotted sensors), ultraviolet and LASER devices, optocouplers, Hall-effect sensors, and High Bright Power LEDs in several assemblies (signage and channel lettering, flexible strips, module strings, waterproof assemblies, RGB, White light). We compete with Lumileds, Osram, Everlight, Seoul, Cree, BrighLED, LEDBright, Vishay, Avago among others.

This linecard is totally complementary and allow the development of several electronic products, in several applications in industries like telecommunication, automotive products, medical equipment, industrial automation, bank automation, POS products, consumer (white line and brown line) , information technology, utility meters (electric energy, water, gas, etc).

We are available to give any related and needed information and also to contribute with ideas, architectures and project policies in order to get the best cost/benefit relation and the best time-to-market.

This is the value of Kobama.
